The partners of the firm came together to form Urban Collective to assist financial institutions, real estate developers, and private land holders who require professional 3rd-party real estate consultation.

The firm’s partners have managed a diverse portfolio of real estate projects. Specifically, they have led finance, design, and construction teams in the development of multi-million dollar real estate projects around the country; their portfolio of work exceeds $1 Billion.

Gilman Bishop has completed over $200 million in residential and commercial development projects over the last ten years including a total of over 1,000 residential units. Mr. Bishop’s experience includes: real estate finance, land planning, construction, development, acquisitions, property management, and portfolio management. At Urban Collective, Mr. Bishop has consulted financial institutions, real estate developers, and private land holders on complex real estate developments. Before founding Urban Collective, Gilman was the Senior Project Manager at OliverMcMillan, a real estate development firm headquartered in San Diego, CA. While at OliverMcMillan, Gilman oversaw the development of the firm’s urban portfolio. Before OliverMcMillan, Mr. Bishop held a management position at E.A Fish Associates, a real estate development firm located in Boston, Massachusetts.

Steve Laub brings over 30 years of land planning experience in real estate development to UCS’s team.  As a strategic partner and principal of Land Solutions, Inc., Mr. Laub is experienced in design/land planning, environmental processing, real estate transactions, political liaison, public policy, title, and legal issues.

Frank Downey brings over 40 years of construction management experience in commercial real estate development to UCS’s team.  As a strategic partner and principal of The Downey Group, Mr. Downey is experienced in construction management, cost estimating, and design coordination .
